USDA Secretary Commemorates One Year of Competition Council

The multi-department effort seeks to support the food supply.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack joined other administration leaders this past week in recognizing one year of the White House Competition Council. A joint endeavor between the Departments of Agriculture, Transportation, Justice, and the White House Port Envoy, the council is continuing to invest in multiple programs to strengthen small businesses within the food industries of the United States.

“I am proud of USDA’s work in coordination with the White House Competition Council over the last year to learn from the pandemic and start to add resiliency and more choices for both producers and consumers in the middle of the food supply chain,” said Secretary Vilsack. “Supporting independent processors and modernizing and reinvigorating enforcement will increase competition, curtail bad actors, and lead to fairer prices for farmers, ranchers, and consumers.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his administration as they work on the food supply chain.
  • For USDA officials as they seek to support small businesses in the food production industry.
  • For Secretary Vilsack to look to the Lord for direction as he heads the USDA.
